This Day-Tour is for travelers unable to go on a full-day tour due to late arrival in Copenhagen.

On the tour, you will see the Frederiksborg Palace, Roskilde Cathedral, and the Viking Ship Museum.

Go on an interesting tour of Danish and Scandinavian history from a Danish perspective. Packed with insight into Danish history and culture.

• Arriving in Hillerod around 1200 CET you will have 2-3hours(depending on the pickup time) to see the magnificent renaissance place of Frederiksborg built in the 1700s century by one of the most famous kings at that time, the monarch of the dual monarchy of Denmark-Norway.
• And find a place for lunch. (Lunch is not included). But we can help you find lunch at a nice local café with both Danish and international lunch classics. Or if you prefer, a stroll of the local walking street might provide other lunch options.
• You will meet up with your guide at Café Valentin, for details about the rest of this tour day, this will be will between 1300 and 1430 CET.
• From Hillerod to the town of Roskilde, there is a drive through the rural landscape of Zealand with a tour bus.
• In Roskilde, there will be a guided tour of the Roskilde Cathedral and a visit to the Vining Ship Museum.
• You will be dropped off at Cruise Ship Terminal in Copenhagen, no later than 1830/630 PM with thte tour bus.

This Day-tour out of Copenhagen will be spent at interesting historical sites.

• Infotainment!, that’s what we call it. Not so many facts that you lose yourself in years, Kings, and wars. And neither so humor and fun that it becomes a comedy. But a gentle mix of facts presented in an easy-going way and a twinkle in the eyes, by our excellent driver and guide. English speaking ONLY!
• Arriving in the town of Hillerod. You will on, your own, experience the incredible Renaissance Frederiksborg Palace.
• In the town of Hillerod you can also have your lunch(you will have a minimum of 2½ hours in Hillerod from your arrival till you join the bus tour continuing to Roskilde.
• On the way from Hillerod, the tour will take you through the beautiful rural landscape of Zealand with forests and small villages.
• The first stop is the Roskilde Cathedral. Here is a 1 hour guided tour of the Cathedral, where you will be introduced to some of the history of the Cathedral and see some of the most distinct Christian Danish monarch’s graves. The guide will also tell some of the history of these monarchs’ impact on Danish history.
• The day ends with a +1-hour visit to the Viking Ship Museum. The museum is situated on the coastline of Roskilde Fjord(the Bay of Roskilde). There is a shipyard where they reconstructed Viking ships and a tiny harbor with reconstructed Viking ships. In the museum, you will find 1000-year-old shipwrecks of Viking ships found in the Fjord.
• You are allowed to enter the replicated boat, but be careful it is at your own risk!
• There is also a gift shop if you want to find that special thing that defines your visit.
• In the summer period from April till the end of September, we are sometimes lucky to see the replicated Viking ship cruising on the water of the bay.

• People in wheelchairs or users of walking frames should not choose this tour. Cane users, please be aware that wet cobblestones are extremely slippery.
• Please note, that the driver might refuse you on the tour, should you, despite our recommendation choose this tour. In this case, no refund will be granted.
• Entering the replicated Viking ship, walking on the pier, or in the shipyard is at its own risk for injury or loss or damage to clothing and personal items.
• Please be aware that tours with fewer than 6 bookings are most likely to be canceled. (of course, it’s 100% money back in case of cancellation). Alternative dates will often be offered.
